I'm going to be a chef and have a Restront

I had this week's Wot so Funee post all prepared - I knew what I was going to write about and then today, D springs this on me, which is more of a #cute than a #funee but too cute not to share:

D complete with apron, wooden spoon and cooking pot
Now it is not unusual for him to draw pictures of himself with a wooden spoon, but he rarely writes the words to go with it and I just loved his spelling of restaurant (Restront).

We've never seen anything quite like this level of excitement from a child so young about food and cookery. I just bought a new casserole dish the other day in the supermarket (nothing special - just a £3.50 bargain) but there was D alongside me showing me all the plates and dishes he liked saying "I'm really interested in these!" as he pointed to the whole aisle full of crockery and cooking utensils whilst his brother went off in search of moshi toys and DVDs which is far more the norm for that age group.

Regular readers will know that he has made his first steps towards becoming a chef already with his cookery blog (which unfortunately we don't get to update for him as often as he cooks as he is in the kitchen almost daily but only the occasional recipe actually makes it onto his blog), he has decided the name of his restaurant will be The Brilliant Chef, and he has already had a masterclass with Anjali Patak and he was the subject of a blog post written by her too, a trip to the world's best restaurant is on the cards - so we really hope all your dreams will come true, D. If you carry on with this level of passion and enthusiasm for food and cookery, then I'm sure they will.

    1. thanks Actually Mummy. Sometimes he takes a few 'days off' from cooking and we wonder whether that is it - that it was just a phase - but then he gets back in that kitchen totally excited and enthusiastic about cooking again and we realise that it is a real dream and passion that is so part of him. x
