Aquabeads Review: Tsum Tsum Playset

It was like Christmas had arrived early when Miss T received her latest Aquabeads blogging assignment. It was the Aquabeads Disney Tsum Tsum playset. Even though we're not all that familiar with Tsum Tsums in our household, she quickly fell in love with these cute little characters.

Here's what is included in this playset:
  • A table tray (to create your designs on) and palette (to store your aquabeads in)
  • a sprayer (we love these spray bottles rather than the old-style squirters as these give a much more even mist of water spray to set the beads properly)
  • a bead peeler
  • a display stand
  • 2 template sheets (these have designs on both sides so there are 15 tsum tsum designs to choose from) and of course there are loads more designs to be found on the Aquabeads website or you can freestyle and make your own.
There are also full instructions included.

The back of the box clearly states what is included in each Aquabeads set and playset right down to the number of beads included. This playset has over 800 beads and the box even lists out which specific colours are included so you know exactly what you are getting.

This product is an Aquabeads playset rather than an Aquabeads set. The difference being that the sets are the smaller sets containing beads, templates, a layout tray and water squirter. Whilst the playsets contain and bead palette (to sort and store your beads in), a design table to clip onto the bead palette as a lid when not in use and to put your design table on at other times, some playsets do contain a bead pen whilst others don't. The bead pens are available to purchase separately and it is well worth having one if you are an Aquabeads fan. This playset doesn't contain a bead pen but Miss T has some from other playsets which she used.

We love how this palette has storage space for the template sheets, sprayer and bead peeler too!

Miss T used one of the bead pens that we already had to get started...

These Tsum Tsum designs are particularly great as they can be completed so quickly. We used to find that Miss T wouldn't always have the time or patience to complete the bigger designs in one sitting but she did her first Tsum Tsum and asked to so a second one straight away!

And then it was time to spray!

In all honesty, we've not had the best experience with using the bead peeler - I'm sure there is a knack to it that we haven't yet mastered. But as we're patient enough to wait until the beads start to dry and then gently peel and turn them over to finish drying, it really hasn't been an issue. To see the beads dry, and in their display stand, keep an eye out on our Instagram feed.

So for anyone still stuck for gift ideas as we approach Christmas eve...We'd thoroughly recommend the Aquabeads Tsum Tsum playset.
