Dedication Day

T ready for her dedication
Yesterday was T's dedication day. The boys were both dedicated when they were a year old and just because we haven't been going to a church regularly and my faith has been at an all time low this year, it didn't seem fair on T to not have a dedication service.

The local church where the boys go to boys brigade were very welcoming and were happy to do the service. We kept it very low key with only immediate family and Godparents, although as it was done as part of the main service, there were lots of other people there too.

It ended up being quite a memorable one with a fire alarm going off right in the middle of the dedication part (first time in over 45 years apparently!) and at the end of the service both J and T's Godparents' son got stuck in the lift.

T was given this stunning quilt made by her very talented and thoughtful Godmum:

  3. What an eventful service! Likely to become a tale that will get re-told at family gatherings in years to come. And that quilt is gorgeous.
